About the organisation

President: Simona Stravs, Ljubljana

Secretary General: Darko Koncan, Ljubljana

Zbornica Davcnih Svetovalcev Slovenije (ZDSS) ( Association of tax advisers in Slovenija) was founded in 1993 and became full member in CFE in 1999. In 2008 it was reorganized into the Chamber of Slovenian Tax Advisers, of which regular members are (due to legal restrictions) only legal entities and sole entrepreneurs, acting as tax advisers in Slovenia. Tax consultancy is now recognized as a professional service in Slovenia, and its members practice as advisers in tax or business matters, but also as accountants, auditors or lawyers. The main purpose of the Chamber is to keep its members informed and up-to-date in different areas of tax law, since the Slovenian tax system has been going through major changes since 1991, and is currently comparable to other developed tax systems in the EU.

The Chamber's tasks are performed through various seminars and lectures where tax or tax-related matters are discussed. Its aim is also to contribute to the development of national legislation making it clearer and more manageable and sometimes also more balanced for taxpayers. When discrepancies between European and national tax law are observed it strives to have slovenian legislation and opinions of Finance Ministry or Tax Administration corrected. It also strives for such legal regulation of the tax consultants’ profession as would make it comparable to other similar professions. Due to very fast development of Slovenian Tax System, our members and the Chamber as a whole contribute a lot in this process and nowadays have a very good relationship with the Ministry of finance and especially with Tax Administration. These results are leading to the public recognition of our professional work and we can nowadays not imagine any more that Slovenian taxpayers could act without the assistance of Tax Advisers in any of official tax procedures they are involved.
